Ei : Today we are going to talk about \"Money\". Everyone is familiar with money, and everywhere we need money.
Em: Let's first discuss people's different attitudes toward \"Money\" Ei: Okay...Well, It said:money is not everything ,but without it you can’t do anything. In addition, some people say it is nothing while others say it is the most important thing in their life and without it they can’t live any longer.
Em: Oh yeah, and from my perspective, having lots of money or less money is not the important thing , the important thing is weather we are happy or not, which makes our life full of wonderful thing.
Ei: Then, let's review the phrases we learned in Unit 3.\"Breadwinner\":a member of a family whose wages supply its livelihood ;\"A rainy day\":a period of want or need .\"broke\":to spend or lose all of your money
Em: blow it:to run quickly. Splash out:spend a lot of money. Worth a fortune:worth a great deal of money
Ei: They are quite useful in oral English, I think. Finally,we should know that money is neccessary in our daily life, wheras it's not the most essential one. Topic 2 Body
Ei: Today we are going to talk about \"Body.\" We all know we need to be healthy in order to fulfill tons of tasks. However, the truth is now we are more vulnerable to disease and seeking for various methods to cure them.
Em: Yup. It's easy to see the words like \"Obesity, TV-potato and sedentarily\"'. Girls are going on a diet blindly. It is increasingly essential to understand how to keep it in good working order by exercising properly.
Ei: I may introduce some details. We should keep a balanced diet which include carbohydrates, protein and fat. Exercise at least one hour three times a week and try yoga, gymnastics and karate. Em:in addition, we also need to give up bad habits,e.g. Smoking, alcohol drinking and junk food.If you are confused about your self body situation, you can even turn to professional dietitian for advice.
Ei: As long as you do all the things we talk about ,then there is no denying that your body health can be assured.
Topic 3 Education
Em: Today we are going to introduce Russian education system. Ei,People say Russia has a long-standing tradition in high-quality education for all citizens. It probably has also one of the best
mass-eduction systems in the world producing a literacy rate (98%) exceeding most Western European countries.
Ei:Education is split into a compulsory Basic Education, and ongoing Higher Education. Pre-school education is elective, and then going to elementary (grades 1-4), middle (grades 5-9) and senior (grades 10-11) classes which last for 4 years, 4 years and 2 years respectively, finally is the university.
Ei: The most impressive things in that PPT, certainly is the school uniform and that vigorous song.Comparing to our uniform, Russian's reflect our vibrant youth and our unique characters, while ours show just all the same appearance...I think we need to improve in this aspect.
Em: We also know the tutorial system, however it's hard to develop in China because of the large population. Consequently, the cons are apparent ,teachers can't check out how much students have grasped the knowledge. We still have a long way to go to reach a brilliant education system, but we have confidence we can make it.
Topic4 presentation
Giving an oral presentation can involve: Reading background material Preparing and delivering a talk Leading a group discussion
Preparing handouts and visual aids
Preparing relevant and thought-provoking questions
Presentation stage
The first thing you need to do is be very clear about the type of speech you are expected to give:do you have to answer a set question, present an argument, explain or discuss something,or be critical?
1.Research your topic.you must demonstrate an understanding of the main points of your tutorial readings, but you will need to read further. Use your course reading list to find additional relevant information.
2.Read and consider the tutorial readings carefully. Express your own conclusions about the opinion/argument/thesis you think the author is trying to express. Demonstrate an ability to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses in the material presentation in the text. 3.Brainstorm your topic and write a rough outline in point form.
4.Organise your material and write a draft--think about the length of time you have to speak and the amount of information you can include.
5.Summarise your draft into points to write on overhesds and/or cards.
6.Rehearse your presentation and get its length right. Ask a friend to listen and time you.
You are now ready to prepare what you are going to say. Presentations should have the following structure:introduction, body, conclusion.
Introduction. An introduction is like a road map that tells your audience the direction your presentation will take. State your topic and tell the audience what your presentation will cover. Start your talk by greeting the audience and introducing yourself, then use a technique to get the audience's interest. You can do this in various ways. You can::ask a question, use a famous quotation, use a striking visual image, and appeal directly to the audience's interests or needs. Body. The body of your presentation is where you develop the main points and present examples and evidence. The information in the body needs to be well-structured. Decide on an organising principle. It could be by chronological order, theme or order of importance. Make sure you provide clear links between main points, explanations and examples. Use visual aids to engage the interest of your audience and ' show ' instead of just ' tell '.
Emphasise important information. Highlight key points and indicate the different sections of your presentation. ' another point is...'
' a contrary view to consider is...' ' in conclusion'
Move form one point to the next by using phrases( such as ' firstly...secondly '....' finally ') Introduce supporting evidence ' for example ...'
' [author name ] states that...'
Conclusion. The conclusion is usually a summary of the main points made in the body of the talk.
Don't introduce any new information in the conclusion. Take the opportunity to show that you have covered all the points you made in your introduction.
Work out how you will finish your talk. You can signal your conclusion with the phrase ' in
conclusion...'
Restate the purpose of your talk, and say that you have achieved your aim:' i think it's now clear that ...'
Thank the audience, and invite questions/comments.
Some tips now about how you deliver the presentation. 1. Stand in a balance position, facing the audience.
2. Take a deep breath and wait for the group to focus their attention on you before you start to speak.
3. Greet the audience and introduce yourself ,even if they already know you.
4. Smile! Your audience will react warmly and if you can't feel relaxed you can at least appear that way.
5. Don't read your presentation word-for-word from a script of from PowerPoint slides - listening to someone read aloud is boring for an audience. Aim to talk instead.
6. Written and spoken language are different. Use appropriate language; generally a formal but conversational tone is best ( avoid slang or colloquial language ).
7. Speak clearly and at a moderate peace. Don't rush;nervous speakers tend to speed up, so try .to peace yourself.
8. Slow down to emphasise key points.
9. Don't be afraid to pause. Short pauses can add emphasis to important points and give you a chance to collect your thoughts.
10. Make eye contact with your audience. Don't just look at your tutor or stare off into space. A good technique is to devide the room into three sections (left, middle and right) and sweep your eyes across the audience. If you don't want to look anyone in the eye, look at a point in the middle of their foreheads.
11. Keep your body turned toward the audience and your body language open and friendly.
Everyone has a family. We live in it and feel very warm. There are five persons in my family, my parents,my sister,my brother and I. We live together very happily .
Like most family, my father is the main breadwinner in my family. And he brings us much hapiness. My mother just a housewife and keep her mind on cooking. The food she cook is the most delicious that I think. And my mother is a woman with a bad memory. She always does a lot of housework, but sometimes she makes mistakes out of carelessness. For example, one day, she washed clothes in the washer, after the washer finished the work, she found she hadn't filled the washer with water. My little brother likes playing basketball .And My sister is diligent, she always helpe my mother with the housework. When I was young, I always quarrel with them, but our feeling is still very good.
I love my family.Because I’m very happy to live with my families together!
